ABN AMRO current-account credit
Variable interest for small-business borrowers
Through Renteherstel.nl, Stichting Massaschade & Consument has commenced collective proceedings against ABN AMRO. According to the foundation, small-business customers with certain forms of business credit paid excessive interest for years. Renteherstel states that the interest on these revolving facilities initially rose in line with market rates. read moreread less
When market rates fell sharply after the financial crisis, ABN AMRO did not reduce its variable lending rate to the same extent. The action concerns entrepreneurs who took out revolving credit or current-account credit with a variable rate from 2003 onwards.
The action may be relevant if your business was small, had annual turnover of no more than €2 million and a credit limit of no more than €125,000.
